Away For A Day (Photos)

I visited the beach before on Idul Fitri Day.

Nobody  is sure about the beach’s name. Some say it’s called Harlem, some say it’s Arlem, Harlen, some even say it’s Arlen. I don’t know.

From Jayapura kota it takes about 2.5 hour driving to De Papre district, and from a pier there, it takes another 10 minutes by motor boat.  Beside Harlem, there are 2 other famous beaches around the area; Amai and Tablanusu. Both can be reached by car, making them popular as weekend getaways for the locals.

Like most of beaches in Jayapura, Harlem is being taken care by the locals. So as what commonly occurred,  there’s no facility’s available beside some bamboo huts for you to sit down and relax -which don’t come for free-, simple changing rooms, toilets and  inflatable swim rings.
Despite its minimum services, a lot of people still come to Harlem. I supposed no one will complain when they have white sandy beach, clear blue water , perfected with such tranquility.

Have the car parked at the pier, then I continued with the motor boat.
The kind of boat that will take you to Harlem.
Hello little crabs.

A fish found by my friend while he was swimming. Seemed that this fella had been left in a broken trap. You can see how injured this fish was. Scratches all over its body. Poor thing.
Look at its teeth!
This is kinda hilarious. Apparently you'll find no phone signal at Harlem, except at this particular spot, where the tree stand still. You can see that the lady hung her phone up and made a call. Perhaps that certain hanging position cut the possibility of unexpected signal's drop, providing her  with better connection.
New friend I made at the beach.
